How to Lose Weight Fast for Teenage Girls

by admin on October 30, 2011

If you’re a young lady in high school, chances are the question of how to lose weight fast for teenage girls has crossed your mind. Being a teenager is hard, and it’s especially difficult if you are heavier than your classmates. High school also has a plethora of big events that you’ll want to look good for. Prom, parties, graduation… Something may come up that puts you in the position of needing to lose weight fast. If that’s where you’re at, don’t worry! Read on for more about how to lose weight fast for teenage girls.

The most important thing to remember when trying to lose weight is that you need to go in with realistic expectations. This is especially important with teenage girls. It’s easy to be overwhelmed with images of airbrushed models looking slim and perfect, but remember that these images aren’t realistic. Instead of aiming to look like girls in the magazine, keep your health and happiness at the front of your mind.
Talk to your doctor before trying to lose any weight. He or she will be able to tell you more about what your ideal weight should be. You may even find out that you don’t need to lose any weight at all!

If you’ve come to the conclusion that in order to be healthy you need to lose weight, the next step is to take a close look at your diet and activity level. Anyone who’s wondering how to lose weight fast for teenage girls needs to be honest with themselves on these two points. Computers and cell phones make it easy to sit still all day long, and the easy availability of high calorie fast food allows our diets to go off the rails really quickly. To combat this, take some time to really think about what you eat and how often you move. Write everything down if you have to.

Now that you’ve got an accurate picture of where you’re at now, you can move onto getting where you’d like to be. Your diet is the main factor in this. Keep in mind that when we say diet, we’re not talking about restricting yourself from food. Your body needs at least 1200 calories a day to function properly. Many of the fad diets going around these days advocate eating much less than this. While a crash diet may make you lose a few pounds quickly, this will be mostly water weight. Once you return to eating normally you’ll just put the weight back on, plus a few more pounds on top of it.

To lose weight, you need to take in fewer calories than you burn. If you eat 1500 calories in a day and burn 2000, you have a deficit of 500. Since 3500 calories make a pound, if you have a deficit of 500 a day, you’ll end up losing a pound a week. This is a very healthy, maintainable rate of losing weight. You may even find that you’ll end up losing a bit more than that in the first few weeks.

Exercise is important to losing weight and absolutely crucial when it comes to keeping it off. If you want to learn how to lose weight fast for teenage girls, you have to learn how to work exercise into your daily life. This doesn’t mean wasting hours in the gym every day, though. Instead, do something that you enjoy. Join a sports club at school, take your dog for a walk, or go hiking with your friends. The more you like it the more you’ll do it, and the more weight you’ll lose.

When it comes to how to lose weight fast for teenage girls, this advice is just skimming the surface. Before you make any changes to your diet or exercise regime, talk to a doctor or another adult to get some more information on how to do it right. Remember, your health is what’s important here. Keep that in the front of your mind and you’ll have a body you’re proud of in no time.

I’m starting high school this year and I’ve been trying to get skinnier for ages. I’m 5″5 and 120 lbs which is at the lower end of the healthy BMI. A lot of my friends eat more and don’t exercise as much as me but some how they stay really skinny. Any ideas on how I can get skinnierf would be really great because I’ve been really depressed about it and almost getting an eating disorder (luckily my mum noticed and stopped me before it got out of hand).

I used the African Mango diet and it did wonders for me. Not sure if its ok for your age. Please check the manufacturers labeling before you try it. Here is my review here: http://www.howtoloseweightfastandfurious.com/how-to-lose-weight-fast-with-african-mango-diet/

Let us know how we can help! Sharon.
